Heat Recovery Ventilator Cleaning
HRV Cleaning Process:
HVAC Air exchanger cleaning is important as it removes all dust and debris before it contaminate the whole ductwork in your house, periodically cleaning the HRV filter & core will enhance your HRV unit functionality, therefore improving your indoor air quality as well. Energy Home Service Technician will inspect the whole HRV system before starting the cleaning process to make sure it is in a good operating condition.
The technician will remove the core and filters to clean them later and will start the cleaning process by using a special vacuuming tool that creates 5000 cfm negative air pressure with 10 inch opening that absorbs all dust and debris and cleans inside the HRV unit including the motor & core. For agitation during the HRV filter cleaning process the techie will use an air gun with high pressure air around 240 psi to agitate and disturb all dust and accumulated debris along with vacuum movement to ensure successful cleaning.
It's important during the HRV cleaning process to wash, wipe & disinfect the core and HRV filters before put them back. after that the technician will turn on the HRV machine to test and check the air cycling and make sure the air heat exchanger is working fine. finally a sanitizer that disinfects & kills bacteria and germs will be applied to the whole unit. We don't use heat exchanger cleaning chemicals, only plant based products are used when we Clean & Maintain Your Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV).
